Holiday Card

posted Dec 17, 2013, 10:50 AM by mdreyfus@ctkschool.org   [ updated Dec 17, 2013, 11:00 AM ]

This family's wacky Christmas video has inspired me to do the same. We're going to keep it simple though and do a narrated slideshow. A good holiday card has three components:
  • Express your feelings about the viewers: do you miss them? Excited to see them over the holidays? Thankful for their love and support all year?
  • Updates about what you've done this year or upcoming events
  • "Season's Greetings," "Merry Christmas," "Happy Holidays"  or something similar

How to make your video

  • Write a script.
  • Find or take pictures/videos quickly
  • Edit in iMovie: KEEP TO UNDER 1 MINUTE!
    • Add some music and sound effects
  • Export to Camera Roll as lowest quality so you can email it.

Dearest friends,

Greetings to you on this cold winter's day in California. Unfortunately, I won't be traveling home for the holidays this year. I want you to know I miss you terribly, and hope we can chat sometime soon. It's been a pretty big year for me. Here are the highlights: I became an uncle! I bought a house! I started playing ukulele! I'm still teaching at CTK, and that's a good thing! I wish you all the best,

Happy Holidays,

Michael
