Today we made our first attempt at using the iPad to create something. First, we took a picture of a quarter, nickel, dime, and penny. Then we used the Art Maker app to record a story about the coins. We explained what each of them was, and how much they are worth. |

We've started using the iPads with the Kindergarten, and they love it! So far we've played a few games to get them accustomed to iOS and work on reading and writing skills. We've used: - iWrite Words
- Phonics Genius
- Spelling Bug
- Sight Words

We're going to create a digital book using Hyperstudio and the template below. On each page, add a picture of your dinosaur. If you can't find a picture for each page, you can draw one. Then, write out the answer to the questions on each page.

In Pixie, write out an addition number sentence like 3+2=5 using a paint brush. Then, use the stickers to model 3+2. Here's an example: Next, make a new page and draw a subtraction number sentence, like 3 - 2 = 1 |

Download the flipchart Counters.flipchart below.
The first half asks students to fill in the addition problems based on the block charts. The second half asks students to model the block charts off the addition problems. |
