Today we're going to learn about searching the internet for information. The hardest part of searching the internet is that there is TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

Lesson

Part 1: Lead class in a Google Search for information about habitats. Discuss the results and how the page is formatted.

Part 2: Refine your search based on results
  • Searching "habitat" will give many Habitat For Humanity links. How can we change that improve our results?
  • Some results will be written for adults. How can we get results that kids can understand?

Activity

Pick a habitat and search for it. Remember to:

  • read your results and refine your search
  • add the words "kids" or "simple" to get results written for students
  • avoid Ad results
